These fun portraits of a couple of my pet chickens are done on watercolor paper. Paper is not my usual surface for acrylics as it is more of a challenge to work on than canvas and has a much different texture, but ever since I started my mixed media sketchbook it has grown on me.
The painting of Boomer the Bernese is coming along! All that's left to do is paint in the details on his face and a few touch-ups here and there.
This is Boomer, a sweet Bernese Mountain Dog who is sadly no longer with us. I was asked to paint Boomer's portrait for his human family who misses him so much.
I am finished with the block-in stage and have already begun adding details.
I've always wanted to repaint or redraw one of my old pieces, and what better time to do it than on the 10 year anniversary of GSC Artwork?
I chose to paint a deer fawn, an animal I painted way back in 2009 when I was just learning to paint. Both are done in acrylics in a loose style, both are in sketchbooks, and I even painted the signature with red paint not knowing that I had done the same thing 13 years ago!
Yep, that was my banner in 2012!
Today marks the 10 year anniversary of this blog! A big THANK YOU! to all who have followed, shared, and purchased my artwork over the
years. To celebrate I am putting together a gallery of photos from my customers. So if you have photos of your original GSC Artwork in its permanent
home, I would love to see them!! Click
HERE to send photos. Looking forward to hearing from you!
