Another cartoon

Here's a cartoon I did today of my Boston Terrier, Sissy. I used acrylic paint and colored pencils like I used on my Boxer cartoon HERE.

Sissy Day

sissy boston terrier dog photo

Today is what I call "Sissy Day", the anniversary of the day Sissy the Boston Terrier came to live with me.

It has been five years since the day my dad carried that frightened little dog through the front door. Who knew that one day Sissy would be one of the best, if not the best dog I’ve ever had?

Here are some illustrations of Sissy I've done over the years. Most of them are sketches.

Update on Whiskey painting

You might not notice much of a difference from the last photo, but during my last painting session I worked on Whiskey's blaze, his neck, and the metal pieces of his halter.

Slowly making progress

Here is the progress I've made so far on my painting of Whiskey. I worked on it for a while today, but I still have quite a bit more work to do.

Finally getting back to painting

Yesterday I started on a 16" X 20" painting of a Tennessee Walking horse named Whiskey. I am painting this for my neighbor who owns the horse.

I'm back!

I have been busy caring for a dog, and I haven't felt like starting on a big art project, so I worked on a small project. It is a cartoon of a Boxer named Bambi.

I used acrylic paint and colored pencils.

As you can see I started on the background before I finished the goat... 'cause I wanted to. :)

Another goat drawing

I am switching to colored pencil for this new project. I am drawing Travis the Nubian goat (again). I had wanted to draw this picture I took in March for a while, and today I finally got a chance to do so.

Introducing Molly!

I started on a new project yesterday - a 14" X 11" painting of another dog of mine named Molly. Molly is quarter wolf, quarter Spaniel, and half Labrador Retriever.

Here is what I have done so far. I have most of the base colors and some detail done.

Last one!

I finished the painting of James LaBrie the Nubian goat, and now my (or Mom's) set of 8" X 10" paintings is complete!

How do they look in Mom's kitchen?

Pictures in the sky

If you are having a hard time thinking of what to draw (and you really feel like drawing), look at the clouds! That's what I did here. This Afghan Hound cartoon was the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw this cloud from my window. I call the Afghan Hound "Sammy".

Funny, huh?

Sorry about the wait

As you might have guessed, I took a short break from painting this week.

I started back up on my goat painting this afternoon. I worked on James's neck, his ears, and his nose. I still have his mouth and most of his head to add detail to.

It's getting there!
